Outreach

This section is about the outreach that I have done for STEM and in the geosciences, in particular.

I am passionate about getting students (really at any age) interested and invovled in the geosciences.

I am currently trying to work with a 5th grade teacher on O'ahu to work with her students to advocate for more girls in science.

In the past, I have volunteered at numerous outreach events that were held at UCLA called Explore Your Universe and volunteering during oreintation week at UCLA to get more students interested in geology and geophysics.

I have also worked as a STEM Outreach Ambassador at the community college I had attended. My job then was to guide K-12 students in different science experiments and labs along with discussing the STEM curriculum that was available at El Camino College to high school students at college fairs.

AAPI Heritage Month

Blog post - May 2022

AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Heritage month is celebrated in May. This post is my experience and reflection as a woman AAPI scientist in geophysics and what that means to me.
